QSTP Hosts Pitching Competition on a Moving Tram

Doha, Qatar – Qatar Science & Technology Park (QSTP) recently held a unique pitching competition on a moving tram. This innovative event challenged Education City students to pitch their AI-driven business ideas in an unpredictable, high-pressure environment. The QSTP Ride & Pitch pushed the boundaries of traditional pitching experiences.
Hosting the competition on a bustling tram was intentional, symbolizing the unpredictable journey of entrepreneurship. Although, participants faced various challenges, including noise, vibrations, and constant movement. This setting tested their composure and ability to deliver clear and compelling pitches amid the chaos.
In addition, the competition gathered students from Education City campuses, each presenting AI-powered solutions for real-world problems. Pitches covered healthtech, construction, and marketing, showcasing innovative AI applications. The QSTP Ride & Pitch emphasized AI's growing importance in addressing global challenges and the potential of these ideas to make a significant impact.
Furthermore, a distinguished panel evaluated the pitches, including Hamad Al Hajri, founder and CEO of Snoonu; Abeer Al Hammadi, Director of Innovation Center and Economic Development at HBKU; Sylia Khecheni, Head of Innovation & Entrepreneurship at UDST; Dr. Allan Villegas, Senior Research Fellow at HEC Paris in Qatar; and Jerry Yin, Vice President of GPTbots. Consequently, they assessed each pitch’s innovation, business potential, and market readiness, offering valuable feedback to guide participants.
Additionaly, with significant prizes, including mentorship, funding, and access to QSTP’s resources, the competition attracted promising startups. Conversly, winners will receive crucial support to scale their ventures and advance their AI-driven solutions, potentially transforming their businesses into tech leaders.
To summarize, the success of this unique competition reinforced QSTP’s role in nurturing innovation and entrepreneurship in Qatar. By organizing such unconventional events, QSTP continues to foster creativity and resilience among the region’s tech entrepreneurs.
